Canice Harte lives in the Pinebrook neighborhood with his wife, Katy Wang, Executive Director of Park City Film. Their daughters have grown up in Summit County — Penelope is now a freshman in college, and Fiona is an 8th-grader at Ecker Hill Middle School. Rounding out the family is Gunther, their lively 11-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who insists on as much trail time as possible.
Service has been a defining thread throughout Canice’s life. He served in the United States Marine Corps with 3rd Reconnaissance, where he trained in advanced field operations, mountain mobility, and specialized rescue environments. Those experiences deepened his commitment to teamwork, preparedness, and taking care of the people around him — values that continue to guide his work today.
After transitioning to civilian life, Canice built a long and successful career in the outdoor industry, working with leading global brands and later founding and growing small businesses of his own. He and Katy co-founded Waterbox®, a lifestyle water bottle company built around the philosophy of Form, Function and Beauty, and helped lead it through a successful acquisition.
Today, Canice’s work remains deeply rooted in service and community. He represents District 5 on the Summit County Council and serves with Summit County Search and Rescue, helping support residents and visitors in times of need.
The Harte family spends as much time outdoors as possible, whether on trails, in the mountains, or volunteering in the community.
